Change your story . Change your life.

“Your life is your story. Your story is your life.â€~Jim Loehr

Story is what we tell ourselves, which seems to matter more than what actually happened. That may or may not conform to the real world, inspire us to take positive action or take us where we want to go. Our destiny follows our story so it’s imperative to edit our story to create what we want.

Each week we will use powerful and cutting edge processes to identify, own and dismantle the stories that no longer serve nor empower you, so you are free to choose the life, work and well-being you desire.

This powerful group is designed to:

  • Get you more engaged with life
  • Unleash your creativity and potential
  • Get you more connected with your purpose in life
  • Face your own personal truth and free yourself from what no longer serves you
  • Gain more clarity about what is most important to you
  • Craft an action plan to complete your life’s mission
  • Rewrite your story to reflect who you truly are

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do.†~ Brene Brown

More on Story

If I am upset or angry or sad or suffering in any way there is a story running in the background. And my mind is on a secret, and sometimes not so secret, mission to collect evidence in support of that story. And I feel justified in suffering. Which just adds to my misery.

Sometimes I am even aware that my story is causing me suffering and, yet, will struggle to stop the story. The evidence collecting and the self-righteousness can be so seductive. And self-perpetuating.

The stories we tell ourselves that no longer serve us underlie many of our automatic thoughts. For example, “He didn’t call to say he would be late (situation) because he doesn’t really love me (non-empowering story)”.

Identifying and then challenging them can not only change feelings but can also transform your approach to life. We usually assume our stories to be true, so we often don’t notice or challenge them.

Through identifying automatic thoughts, feelings and actions we can often uncover the main beliefs that underlie our personalities.

Our stories may have started in our childhoods, or arisen from our innate dispositions, or even cultural influence. They are transparent to us, making them challenging to identify, and, ultimately, challenge and change them.

I love Gandhi’s quote: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” So how are you letting others walk through your mind and contribute to your story?

The disempowering stories are driven by false core beliefs, which tend to fall into several themes: defective, unlovable, abandoned, powerless, entitled and over-responsible/self-sacrificing.

Which beliefs are no longer serving you? These are just a few common ones:

  • I’m not good enough
  • I can’t get anything right
  • I don’t deserve anything good
  • There’s something wrong with me
  • I’m not lovable
  • I don’t fit in anywhere
  • People I love will leave me
  • I will be abandoned if __________________
  • I must have control to be okay
  • I’m a loser
  • People don’t understand/get me (because I am special/brilliant/etc.)
  • I have to do everything perfectly
  • It’s not okay to ask for help
  • If I don’t do it, no one will
  • I’m responsible for everyone and everything
  • People will betray me
  • People are untrustworthy
  • I shouldn’t spend time taking care of myself
  • I’m only worthwhile if I’m helping other people
  • I’ll never be successful

Who would you be without your disempowering story?

Are you ready to find out?

Are you ready to be in this world in a new way?

Are you ready to create a more empowering story of more joy, peace, freedom and happiness?

Then come join us. Identify the story and its underlying beliefs.

Own it. Dismantle it. Rewrite it.

At any given moment, you have the power to say: This is not how the story is going to end. ~ Christine Mason Miller
